TSU finished last season with an overall record of 9-20 and a 5-11 conference mark. In an Ohio Valley Conference preseason poll that was released in October, TSU was predicted to finish fifth in the East Division. Jasmin Shuler, an all-OVC preseason selection, led the team in scoring.
In CU's most recent victory over Hiwassee, four players scored in double-figures led by Jessica Pace's 18 points and 10 rebounds. TaCouya Allen also tallied 18 points followed by Josette Campbell with 13. Calamity Jane Coley posted 12 points while Samantha Harper also registered 10 rebounds.
In their first three contests, the Bulldogs have averaged 76.3 points per game behind a .455 hitting percentage. CU is shooting 26.1 percent from three-point range and 68.3 from the free-throw line. Jessica Pace (16.7), TaCouya Allen (14.0) and London Elie (12.0) are averaging double-digits in scoring for the Bulldogs.
Jessica Pace was the only Cumberland player to post double-digits with 10 points and nine rebounds.
TSU shot a scorching 50.8 percent (33-of-65) from the field, including 36.4 percent (8-of-22) from three-point range. The Lady Tigers held the Bulldogs to just 36.7 percent from the field and 25.0 percent from long distance.
The Lady Tigers held the advantage in rebounds, 40-32, assists, 20-8 and steals, 13-8. Additionally, TSU only committed 13 turnovers in the contest while CU registered 23.
