TODAY'S GAME
The Tennessee State men’s basketball team will continue its three-game home swing by hosting Morehead State on Saturday, Jan. 25. Game time for the Ohio Valley Conference clash is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

TIGERS AT A GLANCE
Tennessee State is coming off of a, 94-78, loss to Belmont on Saturday dropping the Tigers to 2-20 overall and 1-7 in league play. TSU has lost its last six contests, but three of which have been on the road.

TSU is averaging 67.9 points per game while shooting 42 percent from the field. Senior Patrick Miller has been the team’s top scorer all season long and is leading the OVC in points per game (22.6). M.J. Rhett has also been a top contributor, pouring in 10.2 points and securing 9.2 boards each outing.

The Tigers, led by second year head coach Travis Williams, returned five letter winners from last year’s 18-15 squad. However, the club lost four starters due to graduation last year, but the three big missing pieces are All-OVC second team members Robert Covington and Kellen Thornton as well as Jordan Cyphers. Last season, that trio of players averaged 43 points per contest which was 60 percent of the team’s scoring.

LAST TIME OUT
For the fourth time this season, Patrick Miller dropped over 30 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Tennessee State men’s basketball team fell to Eastern Kentucky 94-78 on Thursday night in the Gentry Center.

Miller finished with 33 points on 12-of-19 shooting (63 percent), and a team-best six rebounds and four assists.

Jordan Gaither was the only other Tennessee State (2-20, 1-7) player in double figures as the sophomore finished with a career-high 20 points and was 7-for-9 from the field (77 percent) while playing 16 minutes, all in the second half.

SCOUTING MOREHEAD STATE
The Eagles come into Saturday’s matchup off of an 80-66 loss at Belmont on Thursday. Sophomore guard Brent Arrington lead the way for MSU with 21 points against the Bruins. Arrington’s 21 point outburst was his third 20-point game of the season.

On the year coach Sean Woods’ group is averaging 78.3 points per night, the third best mark in the Ohio Valley. Defensively the Eagles are holding opponents to 73.2 points a game, sixth in the conference.

Arrington is joined in the backcourt by the Eagles leading scorer, junior Angelo Warner, who is fifth in the conference in scoring at 17.4 points a night. With Arrington’s 12.4 scoring average ranks 18th in the OVC, the tandem is one of four teams with two guards in the top 18 scorers in the league.

SERIES HISTORY
Tennessee State will square off against Morehead State for the 60th time, with the Eagles holding a 32-27 edge in the series. Morehead State won both regular season meeting with Tennessee State a year ago. TSU won the third meeting in the OVC tournament, edging Morehead 88-75. In the three meetings then junior Patrick Milller averaged 16.3 points per game against MSU.
