Nashville, Tenn. - The Tennessee State University men's and women's track & field programs will finish the Indoor Regular Season on Saturday when the squads travel to Murfreesboro for the MTSU Valentine Invitational.
Field events are scheduled to start at 10 a.m. with running events beginning at 12:20 p.m.
The MTSU Invite will be the last tune-up for the teams before traveling to Charleston, Ill. for the OVC Tournament on Feb. 22.
At last week's TSU Invitational, the Tigerbelles performed well in the dashes, as Quanisha Sales won the 55-meter and 200-meter with a times of 7.01 and 25.20 seconds while Jackson (56.72) and Gabrielle Todd (57.47) placed second and third in the 400-meter.
In the 55-meter men's hurdles, Jason Griffin and Shawn Harris led all other hurdlers with times of 7.89 and 7.92 seconds. The Flying Tigers also came out victorious in the 4x400, as the team of Lamonte Burton, Osafa Hippolyte, Michael Johnson and Jamill Jackson won the event with a time of 3:20.03.
A total of seven NCAA universities will compete in the MTSU Valentine Invite, including Belmont, UT-Chattanooga, Milligan, Western Kentucky, Arkansas Little-Rock and the host school.
The field events start with the shot put at 10 a.m. and conclude with the high jump. The 400 meter run will start the remaining running events approximately at 12:40 p.m. and the meet will conclude with the thrilling 4x400-meter relay.
