Nashville, Tenn. - Despite the inclement weather, the Tennessee State University Athletic Association (TSUAA) and TSU Athletics' staff gathered for the 7th Annual Kickoff Breakfast at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel on Saturday morning.
The breakfast is hosted by TSU athletics to show their appreciation to Big Blue boosters for the ongoing support to the department and TSU student-athletes. The event also annually jump starts the Tigers' entire athletic season.
More than 200 people were in attendance including members of the TSU athletic administration, head coaches, staff, long-time supporters and corporate sponsors.
In addition, Associate Athletic Director for Broadcasting and Sales, Barry Gresham, was presented a plaque for his service to TSU Athletics. Gresham served TSU for 12 years and was the voice of the Tigers for 10. He acted as the play-by-play announcer for TSU's football and basketball teams.
"We have the best alumni, boosters and corporate sponsors, who are always extending their support to Tennessee State University Athletics," said TSU Director of Athletics Teresa Phillips. "We want to express our gratitude to TSUAA and all Big Blue supporters. Their consistent contributions to our student-athletes never goes unnoticed."
The TSUAA is an organization existing to provide community assistance and financial support to Tennessee State University Athletics.
Membership in the TSUAA is open to all persons and business entities making the minimum annual contribution as established by the TSU Department of Athletics.
