Nashville - The Tennessee State University volleyball program has signed three student-athletes for the 2011 season as announced by Head Coach Kathy Roulhac.
Two of the signees, Ashley Hamilton (5-10, MH/OH) and Rebecca Moudree (5-10, MH/OH), are junior college transfers while Sherryce Butler (5-11, MH) will be an incoming freshman.
"I'm very excited about the 2011 recruiting class," said coach Roulhac. We went looking for experience, height and players that are ready to make an immediate impact on our team and we found them."
Hamilton comes to TSU from Pima Junior College in Tucson, Arizona. She tallied 225 total kills, 99 digs and 62 blocks last season. She averaged 2.23 kills per set and registered double-digit kills in seven games.
Moudree led her team with 159 kills and 51 blocks at Big Bend Junior College. She averaged 2.89 kills and 2.87 digs per set. The Broadwater, Montana native also earned NAACC Player of the Week honors.
Butler played four years at Bryan Station High School in Lexington, Kentucky. As a senior, she was named to the All-City first team and won the Bryan Station Player of the Year Award. She is ranked as the 57th top player in Kentucky according to MaxPreps.com.
These new additions will join fall signee Rachel Ambroch (5-11, OH) and mid-year transfer Britani Hathorn (5-3, L) next season.
