Nashville --- The Tennessee State University volleyball program will welcome junior college transfer Britani Hathorn to the squad, as announced by head coach Kathy Roulhac.

In commenting on how she feels about Tennessee State, Hathorn had this to say, "Tennessee State has a loving atmosphere, I feel welcome and I am looking forward to helping the program."

Hathorn, a 5-3 libero, played two years at the College of Southern Idaho where she led the Golden Eagles to a National Championship in 2009. As a freshman, she was an honorable mention Region 18 selection and ranked third in the conference in digs per set.

"Britani has great leadership qualities and has a JUCO National Championship under her belt," said head coach Kathy Roulhac. "She's bringing some much needed winning experience and competitiveness to our already competitive squad."

In 2008, Hathorn received the Candis Carter award for the most inspirational player at the Emerald City Classic Tournament. She finished the season with 305 digs while averaging 2.9 per set.

Before attending CSI Britani was a starting libero at Gresham High School for three years. She led her team to the state tournament for three straight years.

"She will be looked at for her ability to get the job done on defense," Roulhac continued. "Brit is championship quality and will take us closer to our goal of winning the OVC in 2011."
