Tigers claim second consecutive crown in Atlanta

Atlanta, Ga. - The Tennessee State University's men's golf team claimed the National Black College Hall of Fame Invitational championship for the second straight year. The event featured a 10-team field at the Browns Mill Golf Course in Atlanta, Ga.

TSU trailed after the first round, but then used a score of 280 in the second round to edge Jackson State and win the title. Alabama State finished third to round out the top three scores.

Leading for the men was freshman James Stepp. He fired an impressive six-under par score of 66 in the second round to push him towards a score of (-5) 139 total score.

Junior  Cameron Scitern finished with a total of 141 (70-71), while sophomore Ryan Pearson rounded out the top three scores for the Tigers with a total of 143 (73-70).

The Tigers will be back out on the course from Monday, October 3rd, to Tuesday, October 4th at the Murray State Invitational in Paducah, Ky.
