Andrew Warner named OVC golfer of the week

Nashville --- Tennessee State University's Andrew Warner received the nod for OVC golfer of the week on Wednesday, October 27.

Warner, a native of Hendersonville, Tenn., tied for fourth overall at the SIUE Intercollegiate by Doubletree, carding rounds of 75-77-72 to finish at 224 (+8) for the event.

The tournament was held at the Sunset Hills Country Club in Edwardsville and featured eight teams (three OVC squads) and 52 total competitors.

Through 12 rounds this fall the freshman is leading the Tigers in stroke average (75.6) and has two top five finishes.

Warner is the first Tennessee State golfer to receive the honor this season.

Oct. 20 - Billy Peel, Jr., Eastern Kentucky; Gonzalo Berlin & Matthew Wallace, Jacksonville State; Emma Jonsson, Morehead State; Caroline Lagerborg, Murray State.

Oct. 27 - Andrew Warner, Tennessee State; Lucia Fernandez Valdes, Jacksonville State.
