Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee State men’s golf team will look to improve on last year’s ninth place finish at the 2013 Ohio Valley Conference Championships. The Tigers will be a part of the 11-team field to take on the Par-72, 6,858 yard GreyStone Golf Club in Dickson, Tenn.
TSU will enter the three-day, three-round event with senior Cameron Scitern, who ranked third in the OVC this season, and 2012 OVC All-Newcomer team member James Stepp. Junior Andrew Warner, along with sophomores Shane Sampair and Dallas Hill form the five man squad.
The Tigers last played at the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate where Scitern finished in a time for ninth after carding a 4-under, 68 in the final round. Stepp shot a 1-under, 71 on the final day, while Warner shot 71 during the first and third rounds. Hill recorded a first round TSU best 3-under, 69 and Sampair concluded the tournament with a three-round 4-over.
Hill will be the first onto the course on Thursday morning as he tees off with the sixth group of the day at 8:50 am. Sampair will follow at 9:00 am and Warner at 9:10 am. Stepp is scheduled to tee off at 9:20 am, while Scitern will take to the course at 9:30 am.
