Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee State men’s golf team return to action as they host the 2013 Big Blue Intercollegiate on April 15-16. The two day event will consist of 36-holes on Monday and 18-holes on Tuesday. The 14-team field will play the Par-72, 7,157 yard President's Reserve Course at Hermitage Golf Club. Both days will have a shotgun start of 8:00 am.
TSU will be joined by Ohio Valley Conference opponents Belmont, Eastern Illinois, Morehead State, Murray State, SIU-Edwardsville, Tennessee Tech, UT Martin. Other teams participating for the three-round tournament are Alabama State, IPFW, Lipscomb, South Dakota, Southern Illinois, and Trevecca.
The Tigers are coming off an 11th place finish at the Red Wolf Intercollegiate hosted by Arkansas State. TSU improved each round and look to continue their growth in their final tournament before the OVC Championships.
James Stepp and Andrew Warner led the Tigers as they each finished 9-over. Senior Cameron Scitern completed the tournament four strokes behind Stepp and Warner. Shane Sampair and Codie Welborn each finished with a three-round total of 236.
The Tigers will be in full force at the Big Blue Invitational as Dallas Hill and Matt Campbell will take to the course with the five Tigers who played at Arkansas State.
