Nashville, Tenn. - The Tennessee State softball team will close out the 2012 season with a trip SIU-Edwardsville. The Ohio Valley Conference series will begin with a double header at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and a single game at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Tigers come into the final weekend of play at 14-37, 4-23 in the OVC, the Cougars enter at 21-28, 11-15 in conference play.
Aisha Walker is coming off a 5-for-7 performance on Wednesday evening versus Alabama A&M. Walker improved her batting average by 53 points and is now hitting .277 on the season. Walker has come on since missing the first five weekends of the season due to an injury suffered on the second day of practice.
Junior Tedra Alford leads the Tigers with a .290 average, 28 runs, nine doubles and three triples. Alford has moved into the Top 10 on five TSU Career lists, runs (5th-57), hits (10th-106), home runs (8th-7), walks (5th-46), hit-by-pitch (4th-10) and assists (7th-199).
Shea Morris earned two wins on Wednesday evening improving her season record to 11-21. The freshman pitcher recorded 13 strikeouts on the night and now has 187 on the season. Morris is second on the TSU Single Season Strikeout chart after passing Amanda Vaught's 2008 total of 177.

The Cougars bring in a .263 team batting average and are led by Alex McDavid at. .351. The freshman sensation has scored 23 times and leads SIUE in doubles (8), home runs (3) and RBI (25). Chelsea Yankolovich provides support batting .331 and has walked 19 times to produce a team best .414 on base percentage. Once on base, Yankolovich is an offensive weapon with 11 stolen bases and a team high 26 runs scored.
In the circle, Amanda Lambrecht is the workhorse throwing 195.1 innings in 31 starts and 35 appearances. She has pitched all four of the Cougars shutouts over the course of the season and has a 3.62 ERA. Lambrecht is 15-14 and has fanned 125 batters and issued 79 walks.
