Morehead, Ky. - The Tennessee State men's and women's tennis teams each won a match, but it wasn't enough to capture the win at Morehead State on Saturday as the men lost 6-1, while the women were defeated 4-1.

Daniel Bernal prevailed over Ji Hoon Heo of MSU (6-7, 2-2 OVC) in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 to give the Tigers (0-6, 0-3) the point at #1 Singles. Branden McClain put up a solid effort at #2 Singles before falling just short as Nathan Martin won 6-3, 6-2.

For the women, the match of the day was the #2 Singles battle between London Thomas of TSU (0-6, 0-3 OVC) and Lissa Pacheco-Brousseau of the Eagles (2-12, 1-3 OVC). Thomas fell behind after dropping the first set 7-5. The sophomore from Memphis won the second set 6-4 before taking the match 2-1 with a 10-6 third set victory.

Kryston Mason gave Morgan Wright all she could handle at #4 Singles as Wright ended up on top 6-2, 6-4.

Tennessee State ends the weekend at Eastern Kentucky on Sunday at 10 a.m.
