Nashville, Tenn. - Michael Rideout of the Tennessee State University Flying Tigers was selected adidas® OVC Co-Male Track Athlete of the Week by the conference office on Tuesday.
Rideout picked up the only victory for the men's track and field team on Saturday in the 9th Annual Boston-Moon Classic.
He won the 400m for the second time this season recording a personal best in the event at 47.61 seconds. It is the second time this year Rideout has recorded a PR in the event after winning the 400m at the Alabama Relays (3/27) clocking in at 47.95.
In both victories this outdoor season, Rideout has posted a time under 48 seconds and his new time currently remains the fastest in the Ohio Valley Conference.
He was named adidas® OVC Co-Male Track Athlete of the Week for the third time in outdoor competition after spotlighting TSU at the Alabama Relays and Morehouse Relays.
He receives his fifth career OVC weekly honor and his fourth of the 2010-11 track and field season. He was named athlete of the week during indoor season on Jan.25.
Next, the Flying Tigers will take a week off before competing in the Vanderbilt Invitational from April 22-23.
