MEET SCHEDULE & INFO | HIGH SCHOOL SCHEDULE (FRIDAY)

Nashville, Tenn. - The Tennessee State University men and women's track and field teams will compete at home in the 9th Annual Boston-Moon Classic on Saturday, April 9, at the Edward S. Temple Track Complex.

The meet, hosted by the Flying Tigers, honors TSU men's track and field legends, three time Olympic medalist, Ralph Boston, and former 100m-world record, John Moon.

The Classic will also host a high school section, which is set to kick -off on Friday, April 8, at 2 p.m. with the boy's shot put and preliminary running events. The finals of those events are scheduled for Saturday.

The collegiate portion of the meet will open with the women's hammer throw at 1 p.m. All running events on Saturday, will start with the collegiate women's steeplechase and move into a rolling schedule.

Collegiate teams scheduled to participate include: Alabama A&M, Albany State, Belmont, Jacksonville State, Lipscomb, Middle Tennessee State, Morehouse, Rust, Shorter and Tennessee Tech.

In last year's Boston-Moon Classic, the Flying Tigers picked up two victories and were led by Michael Rideout's win in the 400m with a time of 48.38 seconds. He then joined Julian Mallory, Phillip Myton and Johnnie Poole to win the 4x400m-relay. RECAP...

The team is coming off competition at the Tiger Track Classic hosted by Auburn last week. Several runners improved their time in their respective events with Arthur Combest recording the best finish. Combest recorded a career time, 14.88, in the 110m hurdles to finish seventh overall. RECAP...

For the Tigerbelles, last year's Classic ended with four victories in the 400m, high jump and both relays. Gabrielle Todd won the 400m (57.70) and Daniecce Ward picked up the win in the high jump. RECAP...

The team is competing after a week off from competition. Their last time on the track was during the Morehouse Relays. TSU finished fourth in the team standings and were led by first place performances from Teannah Holland (shot put) and the 4x800m relay team. RECAP...

Next, after a week absence, both teams will compete across town at the Vanderbilt Invitational. The two-day competition will begin on Friday, April 22.
