Tigerbelles to compete at Weems Baskin Relays

MEET INFO | MEET SCHEDULE

Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee State University Tigerbelles will hit the road again when they compete in the Weems Baskin Relays this weekend. This will be their third event of the outdoor season.

The meet will be hosted by the University of South Carolina, and will be held at the Weems Baskin Track on Friday and Saturday, March 25-26, in Columbia, S.C.

Along with the Tigerbelles and host South Carolina, teams scheduled to compete are: Lenoir-Rhyne, Campbell, Citadel, Erskine, Dayton, Morris, Charlotte, Tuskegee, Francis Marion, Clark Atlanta, East Tennessee State, Limestone, South Carolina-Beaufort, Savannah State, Savannah Art & Design, Appalachian State, Ashland, Fort Valley State, UNC-Pembroke, Benedict, Charleston Southern, Claflin, Coastal Carolina, South Carolina State, and Voorhees.

In last year’s event, Gabrielle Todd won the second section of the 400m dash with a time of 57.52 seconds. The 4x400m relay team finished second overall with a time of 3:57.70 seconds. RECAP...

The women’s portion of the events will begin at 10am on Saturday, with the women’s hammer throw and will end with the women’s 4x400m relay at 4:55pm.

The Tigerbelles are coming off an appearance at the Morehouse Relays last week, where they registered three first-place finishes. TSU captured first overall in the 4x200m, and 4x800m relays, while individually, Martinique Guice picked up a first in the long jump. RECAP...

Next up, the Tigerbelles will take a week off before competing in their only home meet of the season in the Boston-Moon Classic, held at the Ed Temple Track Complex on April 9.
