Murray, Ky. --- The Tennessee State University women's golf team wrapped up action at the New Wave Communications Racer Classic Monday afternoon, finishing the tournament in eighth place.
After 18 holes on Monday, TSU tallied a team score of 377. In the final round on Tuesday, the Tigers improved six strokes and recorded a 371 for a final score of 748.
Jamie Pierce led the way for Tennessee State after registering an 86 in the opening round and posting an 81 in round two. Her total score of 167 was good for a 22nd place finish.
Sara Shoufler (42nd) followed with a score of 186 (90-96) while Mya Billingsley (46th) carded a 196 (100-96).
Bria Norris (101-98-199) and Shatara Williams (116-121-237) rounded out the scorers for TSU.
The tournament, held at Miller Memorial Golf Course, was won by Drury University with a score of 628 while host Murray State (636) finished second. Southern Illinois finished six strokes behind MSU with a 642.
Tennessee State returns to action on Monday, March 26 at the Alabama A&M Golf Classic.
