The Tennessee State University Athletic Department has released the following statement about senior TSU golfer Marie Black who was injured in an automobile accident earlier this week:
"The Tennessee State University family wishes Marie a full and speedy recovery," said TSU Athletic Director Teresa Phillips. "Marie is an outstanding student-athlete and we ask everyone to keep her in your thoughts and prayers."
According to a spokesperson for Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind., Black is in good condition in the Intensive Care Unit.
Black, a native of Indianapolis, is a senior golfer for the TSU women's program and recently competed at the F&M Bank Intercollegiate in Hopkinsville, Ky., on Oct. 9 - 10, 2011.
