Nashville --- Tennessee State University Director of Athletics Teresa Phillips has announced the naming of Chris Seibel to the position of head coach for the men and women's golf program.

As head coach, Seibel will supervise and direct the day-to-day operations for the men and women's golf teams.

Seibel stepped into the role of head coach for the Tennessee State University women's golf team in January 2011. Under his leadership, the women's golf team broke the single round record on two occasions with scores of 350 and then 333. Additionally the Tiger golf team also improved 25 strokes in four tournaments (12 rounds).

"It's an honor to be given the men's head coaching position," commented Seibel. "I believe what I have learned from playing collegiately and professionally, I know what it takes to produce a great program. Being able to come back to my school and coach golf is just a blessing and dream come true. I get to come in everyday to do a job I love and excited about. I believe the men have a lot of talent to win and I am just going to give them the tools and knowledge to win a OVC Championship. I think we are closer than we ever have been to win conference."

Seibel competed four years with the TSU men's golf team. As a senior he was named the TSU Male Athlete of the Year and was selected to the 2010 All-OVC team. Also during his senior campaign, He led the team with a (+1) 72.9 scoring average and registered five top five finishes.
