NASHVILLE, Tenn. – On May 12, the Tennessee State Athletic Department will send 14 student-athletes to Germany to increase the university’s overseas awareness.
While in Europe, the Tigers will study abroad and recruit undergraduates in Magdeburg to visit the TSU campus. Participants will also gain an integrative experience of learning, while increasing the cultural competency of students at the collegiate level.
“TSU and Magdeburg have had a close connection for several years to promote education, arts and sports,” Associate Athletic Director for Academics Dr. Johnnie Smith said. “On behalf of the TSU and the Athletics Department, we are honored to be taking a prestigious delegation of 29 TSU representatives, including staff and students.”
The student-athletes will also get an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see famous landmarks such as the Allied Museum, Berlin Wall and many of the country’s castles.
The Big Blue group will depart on May 12 and will stay overseas for 10 days before returning to Nashville on May 22.
