Seibel Wins TSU Athlete of the Year
Nashville, Tenn. - With the 2010-2011 athletic seasons approaching, the Tennessee State University Department of Athletics will take a look back at last year, counting down the Top 10 Moments of the 2009-10 season.
Falling in at No. 6 - TSU Golf's "Seibel Wins TSU Athlete of the Year" becoming the first male golfer to win the award.
For his year-to-year growth and improvements on the green, Seibel was honored after improving his stroke average per season while averaging his best numbers during his senior campaign. He was also noted for help leading TSU in winning the PGA Division I Minority National Championship in 2009.
Seibel, the first TSU golfer to be named to the All-Ohio Valley Conference team since 2005, was third in the league at 72.8 strokes per round, just 0.4 strokes behind the top average. The senior played in eight total events and had four top-five and six top-10 finishes.
The TSU athletic department's staff and coaches, out of a pool of more than 25 entries, voted the Top 10 Moments of 2009-10.
