Okafor Named ALL-OVC Again
Nashville, Tenn. - With the 2010-2011 athletic season approaching, the Tennessee State University Department of Athletics will take a look back at last year, counting down the Top 10 Moments of the 2009-10 season.
Coming in at No. 8 - The Lady Tigers' "Okafor named ALL-OVC Again" after leading the women's basketball team in scoring with 14.5 points per game while pulling in 7.5 rebounds per contest. She was named to the 2010 All-Ohio Valley Conference First Team.
Oby Okafor returned to the starting line-up after suffering a season-ending injury during the 2008-09 preseason going into her senior year. She was also named to the preseason team at the start of that season after receiving second team OVC honors in spring of 2008.
In the summer of 2009, she elected to return for her last year of eligibility; pursuing a master's degree in her final season with the Lady Tigers. Okafor finished the year receiving TSU's Female Athlete of the Year Award.
The TSU athletic department's staff and coaches, out of a pool of more than 25 entries, voted the Top 10 Moments of 2009-10.
