Nashville, Tenn. – Last Thursday’s Tennessee State Football Prospect Camp in Chattanooga brought a close to a long two weeks for head football coach Rod Reed and his staff.

On June 3 through 6, Reed and other TSU coaches held the TSU Lil’ Tiger Camp for boys ages 6-14. The program then hosted high school students on June 7 in Nashville, June 9 in Memphis and June 13 in Chattanooga.

At the Lil’ Tiger Camp, approximately 40 kids from around the area worked on the fundamentals of football including throwing, catching, blocking and defensive positioning while receiving instruction from TSU coaches.

The campers performed agility drills that included running around cones and over blocking pads. They also scrimmaged using flags instead of tackling.

The Prospect Camps were more detail oriented and involved potential recruits being evaluated and coached by the TSU staff.

The program had a great turnout for the state-wide camps as over 70 kids in the Nashville area participated and over 100 turned up for the event in Memphis.

Up next for the TSU coaches are the Fourth Annual Music City Shootout and Offensive and Defensive Line Camp on July 20.
