The Tennessee State University women's basketball team will make the
trip to Kentucky to face No. 14 Louisville in the final non-conference game of
the season. TSU will match-up with the Big East member on Monday, Dec. 31 at
the KFC Yum Center. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m. EST. The game will be TSU's
second contest in three days.
Simone Hopes leads the team with 9.8 points and 7.0 rebounds per game while Jasmin Shuler is the second leading scorer with 9.6 ppg. Kesi Hess rounds out the top three with an average of 9.3 points per outing.
As a team, TSU is averaging 56.9 points per outing while shooting 35.8 percent from the field and 26.7 percent from beyond the arc. TSU is currently shooting only 67.8 percent from the free-throw line while committing an average of 17.3 turnovers per game.
TSU averages 36.1 rebounds, 9.9 assists and 9.7 steals per game. The Lady Tigers are under first year head coach Larry Joe Inman.
The Big East Member has won two straight including the most recent win over Wagner College, 106-32. In the victory over Wagner, Louisville posted a season-high 106 points and had nine players to score in double-figures.
Megan Deines led the way with a career-high 19 points, Jude Schimmel added career-highs with 15 points and eight steals, and Sara Hammond contributed with 14.
As a team, Louisivlle averages over 75 points per game behind a 46.5 shooting percentage. The Cardinals average 40.8 rebounds, 15.8 assists and 13.2 steals per game.
Sara Hammond (12.3 ppg and Shoni Schimmel (11.3 ppg) pace the Cardinal offense.
