NASHVILLE, Tenn. – On Monday, Patrick Miller was named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week for his performances in Tennessee State’s games against Middle Tennessee and Southeast Missouri.
Miller began the week by scoring 22 against Middle Tennessee including a 7-for-7 mark from the free throw line. The senior also had a jaw-dropping dunk while being fouled that was featured on “Sports Nation” and “Olbermann”.
The Chicago native closed the week by setting a career-high with 37 points on 12-of-21 shooting (57 percent) at Southeast Missouri. Miller added a team-high seven assists and four boards against the Redhawks.
The senior guard has now led the Tigers in points in 16 of TSU’s 18 contests, has a 30-game double digit scoring streak and has 11 20-pt. games.
This is the second time that Miller has won the award (Dec. 31, 2012) and the first Player of the Week honor for a TSU player since M.J. Rhett took home the title since Jan. 7, 2013.
