Nashville, Tenn. – Tennessee State will step out of conference play for a trip to Knoxville and a matchup against #6 Tennessee. This will be the fourth contest this season for the Tigers against a member of the SEC. First pitch for the single game is scheduled for 7:00 pm ET. The game can be heard on tsutigers.com.
The Tigers (11-22) are coming off a weekend conference split with Morehead State. The Tigers dropped the first game 5-1 before using a three-run double off the bat of freshman Audrey Sensing in the sixth inning to complete an 8-6 comeback win.
Senior Jennifer Givens was 5-for-7 on the weekend to increase her season average to .419. Givens stole three more bases, giving her 16 on the season and 50 for her career. Freshman Kiarra Freeman registered five hits and is now hitting .356.
Sophomore Shea Morris earned her second save of the season in game two and helping junior Olivia Gamache improve to 4-11 on the season.
