Kim Haynes, a two-year letterwinner for the Tennessee State University women's basketball program, served as team captain for the Lady Tigers two consecutive years. During the2011-12 season, she was the fourth leading scorer on the team and ranked 15th in the OVC in made three-point field goals. In May 2012, Kim graduated cum laude from TSU with a 3.4 GPA and a bachelor's degree in Health Performance and Sports Science. The is also a 2012 Arthur Ashe Sport Scholar.
TSUTigers sat down with Kim to talk about her TSU experience.
TSUTigers: What do you love most about TSU?
K. Haynes: The environment, the college campus life
TSUTigers: What will you miss most about TSU?
K. Haynes: My teammates, friends, line sisters
TSUTigers: What is your most memorable basketball moment at TSU?
K. Haynes: Scoring 100 plus points on UT-Martin, even with the loss it was a fun game
TSUTigers: What is your most memorable non-basketball moment at TSU?
K. Haynes: Crossing Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
TSUTigers: How do you feel social networking played a role in this season?
K. Haynes: Didn't play a big role
TSUTigers: Do you have a favorite TSU fan/supporter? If so, who?
K. Haynes: "Shoot it like you want it" - (I can't think of her name but I am sure you know who I'm talking about) and Mr. Stafford
TSUTigers: What advice would you give to incoming freshman?
K. Haynes: Go to class! Never stop learning and improving your game, don't take a break even in the summer
