Brandon Bather is a four-year letterwinner with the Tennessee State University football team. He was named the Sidney Crutchfield Special Teams Player of the Year as a junior. He was also honored for his outstanding academic and athletic achievement by the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Arts and Sciences.

TSUTigers sat down with Mr. Bather to talk about his TSU experience.

TSUTigers: Talk about your overall TSU experience.

B. Bather: Overall I enjoyed my time at Tennessee State. From day one I was around positive peers and teammates. I learned a lot of life lessons here and I can honestly say that if it wasn't for TSU I would not be the man I am today.

TSUTigers: What do you love most about TSU?

B. Bather: What I love most are the people I have come to know over the years.

TSUTigers: What will you miss most about TSU?

B. Bather: I will miss my times with my teammates the most, from summer conditioning, to winter workouts, to just chilling on the yard.

TSUTigers: What is your most memorable football moment at TSU?

B. Bather: My most memorable moment was my first big hit of my college career during my freshman season. The crowd loved it and that's when I realized I was part of a legacy.

TSUTigers: What is your most memorable non-football moment at TSU?

B. Bather: When I pledged Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.

TSUTigers: What advice would you give to incoming freshman?

B. Bather: My advice would be to build a strong academic foundation your early years so when it is time to graduate the stress will not be unbearable and you will be able to enjoy your final years.

TSUTigers: What was your most challenging class at TSU?

B. Bather: Abnormal Psychology

TSUTigers: What organizations were you a part of besides football?

B. Bather: Omega Psi Phi, Pre-Alumni council, TSU Radio, TSU TV "On The Prowl", NPHC

TSUTigers: Who have been the most influential people to you at TSU?

B. Bather: My peers who did not make it along the way, I would use them as motivation to stay focused and a constant reminder that it could all be taken away from me.

TSUTigers: What's next for you?

B. Bather: Graduate school; where TBA

TSUTigers: What have you learned at TSU that you will keep with you for the rest of your life?

B. Bather: I learned that you cannot stay young forever  and one day you must grown up and build a bridge for others to cross so they won't have to struggle through the tough waters you did.
