Administration Coaching Staff
 

Patrice Elder rejoined the Athletic Training Staff at Tennessee State University in August 2007.


Elder's primary responsibilities include providing treatment for football, track, and other sports as assigned. In addition to her duties as an athletic trainer, Elder is also a professor for the HPSS department.

Elder returns to TSU from Morgan State where she worked as the Lead Assistant Athletic Trainer and the Senior Sports Medicine Administrator for Women's Sports for two years. While there, Elder supervised the medical coverage for football, women's basketball, and softball. She was responsible for the daily functioning, management, and organization of two athletic training rooms in addition to coordinating team practices and games. Elder also taught Health and Athletic Training courses at Morgan for two years.

Prior to her stretch at Morgan State, Elder worked as an assistant athletic trainer for Tennessee State University. She administered medical coverage for men's and women's track, volleyball and cheerleading. She also assisted with providing coverage for football and women's basketball.

Following her tenure as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for Tennessee State University (1999 to 2000), Elder worked as a certified athletic trainer at Brewster High School and Northern Westchester Physical and Occupational Therapy PLLC in Mount Kisco, New York.

Elder, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, serves as the assistant faculty leader for Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). In addition, Elder is a National Athletic Trainer Board of Certification Home Study Reviewer.

Elder received a B.S. in Physical Education from Kent State University in 1999 and completed her M.A. Ed. in Sports Management at Tennessee State in 2004.
