NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Next up for Tennessee State Track and Field is the NCAA East Preliminary Round (formerly the East Regional) on May 23-25 in Greensboro, N.C. The top-48 in individual events qualify and the top-24 relay teams also make the cut.

Royce Dates season best long jump of 24 feet, 4.5 inches at the OVC Championships is good enough for 33rd in the region. Daryl Rice will join Dates in Greensboro as his high jump of 6 feet, 9.75 inches at the Boston-Moon Classic puts him in 48th place.

For the women, Ashontae Jackson and Clairwin Dameus both finished in 27th during the outdoor season with a long jump of 20 feet, 1.75 inches. Jackson's jump came at the Florida Relays while Dameus had her season best at the Georgia Tech Invitational this past week.

Jackson and Dameus, along with Diera Taylor and Quanisha Sales, will also compete in the 4X100 Meter Relay as their time of 45.20 seconds at the Georgia Tech Invite places them at 19th in the East region.

The three days of competition take place at Irwin Belk Track inside of Aggie Stadium and features the top athletes in the world, east of the Mississippi. Qualifying teams and individuals advance to the 2013 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., on June 5-8, 2013.
