The 2011 Jeff Dabney Softball summer camps are set for July. The camp series will feature several day camps throughout the month focusing on catching, hitting, defense and more.
All participants will need to fill out a Tennessee State University Sports Medicine Camps/Clinics Emergency Health Information and Parent Authorization form.

Tuesday July 5 - CATCHERS - In this one day session, campers will learn all the fundamentals and mechanics on how to be a solid catcher. They will be exposed to drills that can help them in everyday practice, as well as improve their skill level and help them become a better catcher behind the plate. Campers will need to bring their own catching equipment.
Wed. July 6 - HITTING I - In this one day session campers will learn the basic fundamentals of hitting. They will be exposed to drills and live hitting that can be used in everyday practice and help your camper become a better all around hitter. There will be plenty of hitting going on so bringing batting gloves is recommended.
Tuesday July 12 - DEFENSE (Infield) In this half day session campers will learn basic fundamentals of being an infielder. They will be exposed to drills that will help their footwork, fielding and throwing, plus position specific drills.
(Outfield) In this half day session campers will learn fundamentals they will need to become better outfielders. They will be exposed to many drills in areas such as footwork, fielding (fly balls and ground balls) as well as, throwing to all bases.
Wed. July 13 - PITCHING - In this half day session campers will learn all the mechanics and fundamentals on how to be a better pitcher. Campers will be exposed to drills that will help them in everyday practice and training. We will not have catchers so it is recommended that you bring your own.
Tuesday July 19 - SLAPPING CAMP - In this slapping camp, campers will learn the fundamentals of the left handed slap. This camp will feature drills that will focus on footwork, hard slap, soft slap, power slap and bunting.
Wed. July 20 - EXPOSURE CAMP- This camp is an advanced camp only available to High School Age young ladies. Campers will be exposed to all phases of the game. They will participate in defensive and offensive training and also get live action experience in full game situations.
Tuesday July 26 - KID'S CAMP - This is a beginner's camp that will be focused on teaching first time players and early learners the basic skills and fundamentals in softball. There will be basic defensive drills and offensive drills that will help gear your youngster in the right direction.
Wed. July 27 - HITTING CAMP II - This half day session will focus on all things hitting. Campers will be exposed to multiple stationary and live hitting stations that will help them become better hitters.
