NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tigers were shutout in the final two games of their Ohio Valley Conference series with Jacksonville State Sunday afternoon. JSU picked up the first game 7-0 and the night cap 6-0 to complete the sweep of TSU.

Tennessee State is now 14-23, 2-7 in the OVC, while the Gamecocks improved to 23-8, 8-2 in conference.

In game one, Logan Green tossed a two-hit shutout to improve to 5-2. Lindsey Burgess notched the first hit for TSU as she led off the first inning with a single, but was stranded on first base. Courtney Gearlds recorded the second hit off Green with two outs in the seventh.

JSU used three runs in the third and fifth innings, along with an additional run in the seventh off starter Shea Morris to solidify the win. Morris collected nine strikeouts as she dropped to 8-8 on the season.

On the back end of the double dip, JSU took advantage of two Tigers errors in the fourth inning, as they tallied four runs off Olivia Gamache. The Gamecocks added two more runs in the seventh to open their lead to 6-0. Gamache (4-8) finished the game allowing just two earned runs on seven hits. The senior struck out eight, one off her career high.

Tiffany Harbin took a perfect game into the sixth, but was denied of the feat as Gearlds beat out an infield single. Harbin would go on to shutout the Tigers for the second time in the series and improved to 9-4 as she fanned 15 batters.

The Tigers take to the road for a pair of OVC double headers. The first stop is on Apr. 5 in Martin, Tenn., with first pitch set for 1:00pm. TSU concludes the road trip in Cape Girardeau for a 12:00pm twin bill versus Southeast Missouri State on Apr. 6.
