NASHVILLE --- Following another successful Play Day and Elite Camp, the Lady Tiger basketball program wraps up the summer camp season.
“We had a great summer with our women’s basketball camps,” said head coach Larry Inman. “There was good participation, lots of fun and improvement in the development of each camper.”
TSU kicked off the summer with the Lil’ Tigers Camp followed by a Play Day on June 7.
Last Wednesday, TSU welcomed an additional eight teams to the Gentry Center for its second Play Day of the month. Each team played three games against various opponents from across the United States. Following two 20-minute halves of action, the squads had the opportunity to go through situational plays. The drill was intended to sharpen the players’ play and decision making during pressure situations.
Two days later TSU welcomed young people to campus for the first ever Elite Camp.
The three-day event focused on improving the skills and fundamentals that are essential to becoming a great basketball player. The Elite camp gave participants an opportunity to increase their basketball knowledge while learning from and working with collegiate student-athletes.
The campers also had a chance to meet Hall of Fame Coach Larry Joe Inman.
“Our inaugural Elite Camp was very good. Participants showed a lot of improvement as they were exposed to a high-level of skill that challenged them and helped them get better in a short amount of time. They also had a chance to meet people from several different states and develop healthy relationships while improving their skills!”
