Included in the group of Big Blue performers is the TSU women’s record-setting 4x100 relay team of Clairwin Dameus, Amber Hughes, Ashontae Jackson and Quanisha Sales. The Tigerbelle quartet ran a blazing 45.05 time at the OVC Outdoor Championship to earn the 21st seed this weekend.

Dameus, Hughes and Sales will also compete in other events, as Dameus will leap in the long jump, Hughes will hurdle 100 meters and Sales will sprint the 200-meter dash. Dameus currently sits at No. 23 after her hop of 6.22 meters, while Hughes (13.52 seconds) and Sales (23.66) place 30th and 36th, respectively.

Jerome Henderson and Daryl Rice also made it to the East Preliminaries, representing the Flying Tigers.

Henderson will run the 100-meter dash from the 36th position after clocking a 10.42 in the event at the OVC Outdoor Championship, and Rice will compete in the high jump following a leap of 2.10 meters at the Alabama Relays.

When competing at the NCAA Preliminary Rounds this weekend, the top 12 finishers in each individual and relay event will move on for the semifinal and final rounds of the 2014 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships scheduled to run June 11-14 at historic Hayward Field at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon.

Dameus has already punched her ticket to Eugene in the Heptathlon after earning 5,399 points last time out.
