Nashville, Tenn. – The Tigers are back on the road for a pair of Ohio Valley Conference doubleheaders. Tennessee State will crossover to face the top two teams in the West Division, who are also the top two pitching staffs, ERA wise, in the OVC. TSU will open at SIU-Edwardsville on Saturday before traveling to Charleston to face Eastern Illinois on Sunday. Both days are scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm.

The Tigers (11-23, 2-6) fell to #5 Tennessee on Tuesday evening in Knoxville. Ashley Haynes drove in the lone run with a single that brought home Jayna Hanawahine. Kacie Daugherty, Jennifer Givens and Lindsey Burgess all collected hits on the night.
Senior Jennifer Givens boasts the third highest average in the OVC at .417 (40-for-96). Givens leads the Tigers with 16 stolen bases and is tied with freshman Kiarra Freeman (.350) for the team high in runs scored with 17.

The Panthers lead the OVC in pitching and are led by Hanna Mennenga and Stephanie Maday. Mennenga is 14-4 with six shutouts and 186 strikeouts in 115.2 innings while compiling a 1.15 ERA and holding opponents to a .153 average. Maday has thrown in 81.2 innings, punching out 74 batters while recording a 1.71 ERA and a 7-3 record. Hannah Cole and Carly Willert lead the EIU offense. Cole is hitting .398 with nine doubles, 18 runs and 20 RBI. Willert follows at .324 with five doubles, three long balls, 13 RBI and a team high 29 runs.
