Nashville, Tenn. – After going 18-14 in 2012’s campaign, the Tennessee State volleyball team will look to build upon its success this year starting with Saturday’s exhibition tournament in Memphis.

Although tomorrow’s contests will not impact the fall season’s bottom line, it will be the first time that the Tigers get to sharpen their teeth against an opposing team.

TSU will start by playing OVC-rival UT Martin at 10 a.m. before squaring off against host-school Memphis at 11.

The team will then break for lunch before taking on an SEC-opponent in Ole Miss. at 1 p.m. and rounding out the tournament versus fellow-HBCU Alabama State at 3.

TSU was 3-0 last year against UT Martin, Memphis and Alabama State, but Saturday will be the second time in school history that the Tigers have met the Rebels of Ole Miss. TSU holds a 1-0 series advantage, having edged Mississippi in 1997’s Arkansas State Invite in five sets.
