Tennessee State assistant head football coach and passing game coordinator Jeff Parker will be inducted into the Bethune-Cookman Hall of Fame this Friday.
In just two seasons, the Seabreeze High School product registered 125 receptions for 1,765 yards while leading the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Parker led the conference in receptions in 1990 with 58 and broke the Wildcats' single season record with 67 catches in 1991. He received first-team All-MEAC honors in each of those seasons. He capped his career by receiving first team All-America honors in 1991.
He played a year in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and later became a staple in the Orlando Predators' line-up for four seasons before moving on to coaching, where he served as an assistant at Bethune-Cookman, Norfolk State and currently at Tennessee State.
"Just being recognized as a student-athlete and the things I was able to accomplish at Bethune-Cookman with help from numerous people is a great honor," Parker said.
This is the first induction class for Bethune-Cookman since 2001.
The induction dinner will take place Friday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m., while the game between TSU and B-CU will kickoff at 3 p.m. CST.
