Gainesville, Fla. - The Tigers fell to the #3/#4 Florida Gators 8-0 in five innings on day two of the Lipton Invitational. TSU falls to 5-7, as Florida improved to 18-1.

Shea Morris (4-3) went the distance in the circle allowing seven earned runs on nine hits and four walks. The Lawrenceburg, Tenn., native fanned six batters in 4.1 innings of work, but it was the walks that proved to be the difference in the first inning.

After fanning lead-off batter Sami Fagan, Morris issued a walk and a bunt single before collecting a second strike out. But she issued another walk and had to face catcher Kelsey Horton with bases loaded. The two battled for nine pitches, but it was the tenth pitch the catcher lifted over the fence in left center. The Gators would continue to scratch runs in the third, fourth, and fifth.

Ashley Haynes and Brittany Davis each were 1-for-2 at the plate. Kelly Troglin and Savannah Gutierrez earned their way aboard via the walk. Gator pitcher Lauren Haeger fanned four Tigers as she improved her record to 6-1.

TSU will conclude day two of the tournament with an evening game with Campbell. Game time has been moved up to 6:30 pm ET.
