NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tigers take to the road for their final non-conference game away from the Land of Golden Sunshine as they face #15 Georgia on Wednesday. The game is set for a 6:00pm ET first pitch at Jack Turner Stadium in Athens, Ga. This marks just the second time the Tigers have faced the Bulldogs. UGA picked up an 8-0, five inning win in 2009.

Tennessee State is 8-2 over their last 10 games and is currently on a five-game winning streak. The stretch is the longest streak since the start of the 2009 season, when the Tigers opened 9-0. It is the fourth five-game or better win streak in program history.
Shea Morris finished the week 3-0 with three saves and a 0.00 ERA. The junior struck out 29 in 19.2 innings of work and now sits atop the career lists at TSU in strikeouts, innings pitched, wins, and saves. Morris was named Ohio Valley Conference and Tennessee Sports Writers Association Pitcher of the Week.
Lindsey Burgess earned MVP honors at the Tiger Invitational and hit at a .455 clip with four doubles, a home run, seven runs and seven RBI. For her efforts, Burgess earned Player of the Week accolades from the OVC and College Sports Madness.
The NCAA released the statistical leaders for the first time this season on Monday. Over half of the Tigers, seven, appeared as a part of eight separate categories. Burgess and Morris each lead the nation in their respected disciplines.
Burgess is tied with five other players with four sacrifice flies, while Morris is tied with three others in saves, four.
Burgess also ranks 17th in the country with a .573 slugging percentage and is joined by Jayna Hanawahine who is 30th at .432.
Morris is ranked 34th in the nation with 88 strikeouts, while Olivia Gamache is tied for 135th fanning 49. Morris is 130th averaging 6.9 strikeouts per seven innings.
Courtney Gearlds has been hit by a pitch 11 times on the season, for the second highest amount in NCAA D-I. Gearlds is averaging .41 HBP per game and is ranked 17th.
Liz Stansberry is averaging .24 sacrifices per game, while Rebekka Gross is averaging .22, good for 95th and 121st, respectively.
