Northeastern University - 2011-12 Sopohomore Season

Made his first appearance of the season in the game at La Salle (Nov. 30)...played nine minutes and scored two points at N.C. State (Dec. 22)...earned his first career start at Towson (Jan. 2) and played 12 minutes and grabbed two rebounds

Northeastern University - 2010-11 Freshman Season

2010-11: Appeared in 23 games off the bench in his rookie campaign...Grabbed season-high five rebounds, scored two points and blocked a shot in his collegiate debut at Utah State (Nov. 27)...Scored season-best four points against Drexel at TD Garden (Dec. 4)...Credited with first career assist against Rhode Island (Dec. 8)...Matched season-best four points against Furman in UCF Holiday Classic (Dec. 30)...Picked up first career steal at Hofstra (Feb. 5)...Blocked season-best three shots at UNC Asheville (Feb. 19).

Eleanor Roosevelt HS

Played basketball at Eleanor Roosevelt in Maryland's Price George's County 4A Division after transferring from St. John's College Prep ... helped lead his team to a regional championship and an appearance in the state semifinals in 2010 ... named a McDonald's All-America nominee...played in the 2010 Roundball Classic, a high school senior showcase event, and led his team in rebounds...aggressive rebounder that recorded multiple double-digit rebounding games during Eleanor Roosevelt's run to the state semifinals.

Born Oct. 16, 1992...Son of Steven Bates and Stephanie McNeil-Bates...Has one sibling, Jordan...Uncle, Curtis Frye, is the head track and field coach at South Carolina.
