Dickson, Tenn. --- Tennessee State University freshman James Stepp was named to the 2012 Ohio Valley Conference All- Newcomer Team in a vote by the league head coaches.
James, along with the rest of the All-OVC honorees, was recognized at the Golf Championship Awards Banquet Tuesday evening at Greystone Golf Club.
This season, Stepp has the third best stroke average on the team with a 75.5. He has placed in the top 20 twice, including two top 10 finishes. He also has one top five finish in eight events.
He has a season-low round score of 66 and currently leads TSU after one round of the OVC Tournament.
